• 1 inch 3-ring binder with 2 pockets
• pencil pouch for binder
• scissors
• glue stick
• markers
• color pencils
• #2 pencils (wood or mechanical)
Homework -
Reading:
Reading for 30 minutes each school night (Monday-Thursday nights). Read a book chosen by student. The teacher will not be assigning text to read. Students are welcome to borrow books from the classroom. Reading on a Kindle or other digital device is fine.
What if I can't read one day? Not a problem. Plan to read a little more another day but do not make it a habit to skip your reading.
Can I read MORE than 30 minutes or on the weekend? Yes, research shows reading correlates to achievement.
Reading Logs? It will be at the teacher’s discretion whether students complete a reading log.
Other targeted homework is assigned to help students fill in gaps in their understanding. These assignments usually have a flexible "due date" allowing students to complete the activity when it best fits his/her schedule.

- Typing practice using Typing Club, a subscription program provided by the school. Students can access through the LPS student Google login. (Log in to Google.)
- Memorization of multiplication facts (differentiated approaches to suit student's learning style). (Recommended daily in short intervals, such as 5 minutes per day, focusing on a few facts at a time.) Students can work one time each day in Mathigon. Here are additional links for more free practice options.
- In accordance with the homework policy, students may be asked to complete work not finished at school. This is work that helps students keep up with the classwork by allowing students the opportunity to finish work outside of the school day.
